The 60-credit doctoral training program, referred to in 2.2.2., 6° [of the UCLouvain doctoral regulation], includes:
- Advanced courses, participation in scientific congresses, conferences and high-level schools, or any other training deemed equivalent by the doctoral commission of the field;
- Learning and practice of scientific communication through the writing and presentation of projects, articles, and scientific communications;
- Possibly the practice of activities in a didactic framework" (excerpt from the UCLouvain doctoral regulations, p. 4)
Important points :
- The mandatory components of the doctoral student’s programme, such as the confirmation procedure and private and public defense, are not considered here, since it is up to each university institution to recognize these activities or not as an integral part of the 60 credits doctoral training.
- A production (communication, written work, etc.) carried out as part of a master’s course does not award credits in the doctoral training.
- Doctoral training is acquired, inter alia, within thematic doctoral schools (Graduate Schools in the field of Languages, Letters and Translation Studies) and can be spread over the entire doctoral curriculum. This training results in the "Certificate of Training in Research".
New evaluation rules applicable from October 15, 2022
