UCLouvain is an active member of the EURAXESS European network. This European Commission initiative brings together some 40 member and associated states with the aim of promoting and facilitating the mobility of researchers and the development of their careers.

The objective? To help establish excellence in scientific research in Europe. The network’s added value for researchers? Giving you a clearer picture of the opportunities available for your career development.

As a researcher working in Europe, you and your employer have rights and obligations. The Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), through the Rectoral Council (CRef), signed the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers in January 2006. In July 2010, it formally reiterated its commitment, reiterating its determination to support the European Commission’s initiative to promote and encourage the mobility of researchers in Europe (EURAXESS).

This is the best-known tool for researchers, offering online job vacancies and funding opportunities for researchers from all over the world in the partner countries of the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes. Researchers of all nationalities can post their CVs and search for job offers and research funding. Institutions, universities, companies and other public or private research organisations can submit calls for applications and research funding free of charge, and consult submitted CVs.

Using this tool, you can easily:

  • find job offers for a PhD in Belgium or abroad;
  • use an advanced search engine to find research funding opportunities within a broad international network;
  • post your CV to maximise your chances of obtaining research funding – it will be read by a potential audience of almost 50,000 people worldwide.

We invite you to use the EURAXESS “Partnering” tool.

By uploading your Europass CV to the EU’s EURAXESS website and ticking the option that makes the CV visible to registered users, you will make yourself known to potential recruiters in the partnering tool. By completing your data on your researcher profile, you will also receive notifications of new job offers according to your preferences.

EURAXESS Worldwide is the international arm of EURAXESS for destinations outside Europe. The nine international hubs establish communities of researchers and collaborate with various partners to promote Europe as an attractive destination while promoting European values and lifestyle. They also help these communities to find opportunities in Europe through the information published on their website and also by remaining very active: by organising a large number of events and information days or by providing information via social media or newsletters.
