Fellowships for hosting internationally mobile postdoctoral students

uclouvain |

“MOVE-IN Louvain” is a transnational programme developed by the University of Louvain in partnership with the University of Namur (UNamur) and the Université Saint-Louis (USL-B) with the support of the European Commission (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions).

To meet the objectives of the European Research Area (ERA), the programme’s main aim is to encourage the transnational mobility of highly qualified researchers. In line with EURAXESS principles, researchers are selected through a transparent selection procedure carried out by independent experts.

This five-year programme has now come to an end. It funded 160 years of postdoctoral fellowships.

The “FSR postdoc” programme of fellowships for hosting internationally mobile postdoctoral students replaces the MOVE-IN Louvain programme.

The purpose of this funding is to encourage the transnational mobility of highly qualified researchers by awarding postdoctoral fellowships. All scientific fields are eligible.

Fellowships for hosting postdoctoral students are available to:

  • experienced researchers with a PhD;
  • researchers with a maximum of five years' postdoctoral experience;
  • internationally mobile researchers who have not lived or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Belgium for more than 24 months during the three years preceding the project start date.

All nationalities are eligible.

Candidates should also apply for the “Postdoctoral researcher” instrument of the F.R.S.-FNRS call for Fellowships and Mandates, which will open in the second half of December 2024 (call closes at the end of January 2025).

Funding includes a tax-free postdoctoral fellowship lasting 12 to 36 months, which takes into account the researcher's experience, the cost of civil liability insurance, social security contributions and an operating budget.
