MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF)

There are two types of Individual Fellowships:

• European Postdoctoral Fellowships: individual grants for researchers coming to or moving within Europe (Member State or Associated Country).
• Global Postdoctoral Fellowships s: individual grants for researchers going to a Third Country, with a return phase in Europe (Member State or Associated Country).

European Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded for between 12 and 24 months, while the total duration of Global Postdoctoral Fellowships is between 24 and 36 months, including a mandatory 12-month return phase.

In mobility schemes, secondment may take place in another organisation in any country in the world (maximum one third of the total duration of the project).

Supported fellows must be postdoctoral researchers at the date of the call deadline, i.e. in a possession of a doctoral degree, defined as a successfully defended doctoral thesis, even if the doctoral degree has yet to be awarded. Recruited researchers must comply with the mobility rule. Researchers may be of any nationality.

At the call deadline, supported researchers must have a maximum of 8 years full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date that the researcher was in a possession of a doctoral degree.

Proposals involving the same recruiting organisation and individual researcher submitted to the previous call of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships under Horizon Europe and having received a score of less than 70% must not be resubmitted the following year.

Sara Wilmet will guide you through the administrative follow-up of your project.

She will be your first contact point for any questions you may have from the time you start working on your proposal to the final report of your project (eligibility, assistance in finding a supervisor, tips and tricks for your proposal). ADRE also provides feedback on your proposal on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are selected, ADRE will assist you with all administrative, legal and financial matters throughout the project.

• She can give you more detailed information on this sub-action of the MSC programme (including support documents from previous information sessions, testimonies of former laureates and expert evaluators).
• She can also help you find a promoter abroad or at UCLouvain, as well as a candidate who comply with the mobility rule.

Horizon Europe incentives can be requested to support you in the preparation of your MSCA proposals. Do not hesitate to contact the RINT team of ADRE to know more about the conditions of granting.
