Critical Embedded Systems Conference (CES 2026)

We are pleased to announce that the Critical Embedded Systems Conference (CES 2026) will take place from June 30 to July 2, 2026, at UCLouvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
This conference is organized by the Chair of Critical Embedded Systems at UCLouvain, in collaboration with a consortium of leading companies, research centers, and universities. The event will feature a rich program designed to bring together academic and industrial experts to discuss advancements in intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems aimed at achieving trustworthy, resilient, and sustainable mobility, particularly in the automotive, railway, air, and waterways sectors. CES 2026 will include keynote presentations from leading experts, special sessions featuring invited talks, the FNRS session on Embedded Real-Time Systems, a PhD session, contributions from industry, and networking opportunities with international participants.
The Belgian FNRS Contact Group “Embedded Real-Time Systems” will meet on July 1, 2026, and we invite PhD students, early-stage researchers, and practitioners to submit presentation contributions to the FNRS session. In addition, we invite poster submissions to the main conference.
Call for Contributions
Two submission tracks are available:
- FNRS Session – Oral Presentations on Embedded Real-Time Systems: Accepted submissions will be presented on July 1, 2026, during the FNRS Contact Group event on Embedded Real-Time Systems.
- Poster Session – Critical Embedded Systems: Accepted submissions will be presented as posters during a dedicated session of the conference.
Both tracks provide an excellent opportunity to present ongoing research, receive feedback from leading researchers, and engage with a broad academic and industrial audience.
The keynote speech at the "Embedded Real-Time Systems" event will be delivered by Professor Mitra Nasri from TU/e on July 1, 2026, on the theme of "Learning-Enabled and Learning-Assisted Real-Time Systems." This will be followed by shorter presentations from doctoral students and researchers. This session is organized within the framework of the Belgian FNRS Contact Group “Embedded Real-Time Systems” with the support of GRASCOMP doctoral school (Belgium's French Community).

- Requirements engineering, verification, and robustness of CPS
- Security, Privacy, and Trust in Cyber-Physical Systems
- Real-world implementation of CPS in transport, waterways, and logistics
Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be in the format of extended abstracts no longer than two A4 pages (shorter is better) and must be submitted via CES2026 platform.
