Air
From 5.30am to 11.45pm, seven days a week, there are four trains per hour from Brussels Airport to Bruxelles-Nord (Brussels North) train station, from which trains run to Louvain-la-Neuve (not to be confused with Louvain, the French translation of Leuven).
Brussels South Charleroi airport is served by low-cost airlines. It is located 40 km southwest of Louvain-la-Neuve. TEC buses connect the airport to Charleroi-Central train station.
To reach Louvain-la-Neuve, the fastest option during the day and until 9:57pm is to travel from Charleroi-Central to Ottignies, from which a connecting train will arrive in Louvain-la-Neuve in eight minutes.
Step-free access
In Louvain-la-Neuve, most academic and administrative buildings (faculties, services, restaurants) are easily accessible. Adaptations (adapted lifts, widened doorways, access ramps, car parks, etc.) and special signage (for people with sight loss) have been installed. However, not all buildings and lecture halls are accessible to persons with disabilities. The width of some access routes and corridors do not meet accessibility standards.
The Accessibility Working Group of the Committee for Prevention and Safety at Work (CPPT) provides staff and students with information to facilitate their on-campus mobility.
