Admission Criteria & Doctoral Regulations at UCLouvain
Admission criteria are defined in the UCLouvain Doctoral Regulation (for all the students who register for the first time after 14/09/2014).
For the students who registered (even for the pre-admission) before 14/09/2014, the UCLouvain Doctoral Regulation “Transitoire” is implemented.
In 2025-2026, the next deadlines for sending your demands to the Doctoral Committee are:
- 09/09/2025
- 18/11/2025
- 17/02/2026
- 18/05/2026
Any specific request or any step requiring validation by the CDD (such as jury confirmation or jury composition) must be addressed to phd.lsm@uclouvain.be. The demands sent after the deadlines announced above will be examined at the next meeting. For any demand to the LSM Doctoral Committee, please only use the official forms and send all your documents in a single PDF file.

Admission to the PhD programme
All applications for (pre-)admission to the doctoral programme must be submitted via the new OSIS-Doctorat platform. Once your file is complete, it will be reviewed by the Doctoral Domain Commission (CDD). You will then receive an official notification informing you of the decision: admission or rejection.
⚠️ Please note that submitting an application on the platform does not guarantee admission to the doctoral programme.
