Types of accommodation

The richness of interactions between students from all backgrounds makes community life an enriching and unforgettable experience.

Our shared apartments, available in both mixed and single-gender versions, consist of 3 to 10 individual rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and shared bathroom facilities (showers and toilets).

All rooms are furnished, usually equipped with a sink, and include a bed with mattress, a desk, a chair, a wardrobe, a shelf, and a bedside table. Kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and bed linens are not provided.

Rooms in shared apartments are primarily reserved for bachelor students as well as students in Erasmus or exchange programs.

* 10-Month contracts, with the option to request an additional contract during the summer vacation period.

Gathered in a community apartment around a common project, students in project-based rooms share an especially intense life that requires collective investment and adaptation to university life, creating a unique living experience.

Project-Based Kots (KAP)

UCLouvain is proud of the invention of project-based kots, initiated by its students. This innovation dates back to the early days of Louvain-la-Neuve, when the newly established city did not yet have the current activities and events. 

If you are interested in this type of housing, contacts to join a “kot à projet” are made either through Organe (the collective of “kots à projet” in Louvain-la-Neuve) or directly with the kots à projet themselves.

Student Circles

Student circles are associations created by students from the same faculty. Among them are circles such as the Industrial Circle or the Law Circle, which organize various activities and events to animate student life.

Regional Groups

Regional groups bring together students based on their geographic origin, such as the Lux, the Carolo, and others, to maintain a link with their home region while fostering local student dynamics.

Flat rooms are single housing with a private shower and kitchen area; only the toilets are shared. They are furnished with a bed with mattress, a desk, a table, a chair, a wardrobe, a shelf, and a bedside table. Kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and bed linens are not provided.

These are primarily reserved for second- and third-cycle students.

Studios, for single students or couples, are equipped with a kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and toilet. They are furnished and include a bed with mattress, a desk, a table, a chair, a wardrobe, a shelf, and a bedside table. Kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and bed linens are not provided.

They are primarily reserved for second- and third-cycle students.

The apartments are reserved for couples and families with a member enrolled in the second or third cycle at UCLouvain.

They are fully furnished and include a bed with mattress, a desk, a table, a chair, a wardrobe, a shelf, and a bedside table. Kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and bed linens are not provided.
