MSCA European Postdoctoral Fellowships

uclouvain |

MSCA European Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA European PFs) are intended for internationally mobile researchers who want to work at a European institution (in a member state and associated country) for a period of 12 to 24 months (with the possibility of six additional months for the non-academic sector).

UCLouvain is delighted to consider postdoctoral researcher applications for an MSCA European PF with UCLouvain as the host institution:

  • Are you looking to expand your research horizon?
  • Do you want to improve your career prospects?
  • Do you want to join a vibrant and stimulating research environment?

UCLouvain gladly welcomes experienced researchers from all over the world and offers great opportunities for collaboration. We are interested in working with postdoctoral researchers who already have a strong publication record and complementary research agenda.

The first step is to contact Sara Wilmet (tel. +32 10 47 38 36) in the International and EU Funding Unit (RINT) of the UCLouvain Research Administration (ADRE) to check whether you are eligible to apply for an MSCA European PF.

The second step is to contact a supervisor at UCLouvain who will host you in her/his research team. Please find the enclosed list of research institutes, supervisors and/or referents, and email addresses. You can contact them by email, telephone or in person.

MSCA European PFs offer selected applicants a full-time contract to work on a research project and take advanced training. The programme provides a competitive salary, mobility and family allowances plus a budget for research and training costs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience
Applicants must have earned a PhD before 10 September 2025 and, if the applicant has already begun a research career, no more than eight years prior to application. If the applicant interrupted his/her research career, the period of eight years can be extended for the amount of time the applicant was not employed as a researcher. Preceding year applications denied owing to an evaluation score of 70% or less cannot be resubmitted the following year.
  • Mobility rule
The applicant cannot have resided or worked/studied in Belgium for more than 12 months between September 2022 and September 2025.
