Open Data

biul |

Open Data is data that can be freely used, reused and redistributed. The aim of Open Data is to provide free access to research data, in particular to ensure the reproducibility of scientific results.

However, given the sometimes confidential nature of some data, it is not always possible to open it up completely. In this context, "FAIR principles" is the objective: data should be as open as possible and as closed as necessary (Deville, Open Education and Open Science in Horizon 600).

Today, many Funders require that the data resulting from their funding be shared in Open or FAIR Data mode. What's more, publishing research data means that it can be cited by other scientists, which adds value to the work involved in managing the data in a researcher's career.

On these pages you will find information on the principles of Open and FAIR Data, the degrees of data openness and Data Repositories.
