Preparatory year Access2University

The development of French language skills is at the heart of the Access2University programme. This is done by integration in students’ life and through various activities that structure the students’ independent learning process:

• French course for university purposes at the ILV (The Language Institute of UCLouvain). 
• French as a foreign language course at the ILV (The Language Institute of UCLouvain).
• Conversation tables.
• Tandems with Belgian and international students.

Access2University offers the opportunity to follow one to three university courses in a faculty, as an independent student. A2U students have the possibility to participate in courses and group work as well as to take exams.

A2U students are welcomed in their host faculty by a “buddy”. This is a more experienced student who helps A2U students take their firsts steps within UCLouvain.

In parallel with collective activities, individual support is offered:

• For your guidance in studies and / or your socio-professional integration, in collaboration with the CIO. 
• In your administrative procedures to access higher education.
• Towards a social support service, in collaboration with the “Collectif des femmes” association (Women’s Collective). 
• Towards psychological and medical help available at the Students Support Service and towards legal advice. 
• In your integration into student life thanks to the buddy programme and our partners.
