If you would like to support this initiative for refugees and asylum seekers, you can make an online donation to the Fondation Louvain account.

Donations made in Belgium that reach a cumulative amount of €40 over a calendar year are entitled to a tax reduction corresponding to 45% of the total amount donated.

Partial Hosting of a Student: An Open Door, an Easier Journey

Do you have a spare room in the Louvain-la-Neuve area? By offering a few nights of accommodation per week, you can make a concrete difference in supporting the journey of a student seeking asylum.

The Access2University programme at the University of Louvain, a preparatory year for (prospective) refugee students resuming higher education — is looking for rooms near Louvain-la-Neuve to host students a few nights per week.

I would like to offer a room by completing the form.

Some students in the Access2University programme live more than an hour away from the Louvain-la-Neuve campus by public transport. For legal reasons, these students are currently unable to move closer.

Partial accommodation near Louvain-la-Neuve allows them to reduce their travel time, improve their living conditions, and focus more fully on resuming their academic journey.

Aged 18 to 35

From diverse backgrounds (Palestine, Ukraine, Syria, etc.)

In the asylum application process

Attending French classes (levels between A2 and B2)

Resuming higher education in a variety of fields (law, engineering, social sciences, etc.)

The hosting arrangement is offered on a voluntary basis, in a spirit of mutual support, and no rent is requested.

The practical arrangements (duration, frequency, organisation) are defined freely between the host and the student, in a way that respects the needs of both parties.

To support you and provide a clear framework, the University of Louvain offers a template agreement you can use.

What are the steps to offer partial accommodation?

In this form, my data will be used solely for the purpose of arranging partial accommodation for an Access2University student.
