Language Institute - ILV

Are you interested in learning French or another language?

French classes are free, but only if you have it on your Learning Agreement signed by your home coordinator. 

If you can’t add French in you Learning Agreement, you can study French for only 139 euros.

The information session will take place at the language institute called ILV (ESOP33, 3rd floor, Traverse d’Esope 1 à 1348 Louvain-la-Neuve) on: 

• Monday, 2 February 2026 at 12:00 am for beginners (A1, A2) (session in English)  
• Monday, 2 February 2026 at 1:15 pm  for intermediate/advanced levels (B1, B2, C1) (en français / in French). 

🌍 ILV will also be at the International Students’ Day on Friday, 30 January from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, 1 Place de l’Université, 1348 Louvain-la-Neuve.

💻 Level test for the French courses will be accessible on Moodle from Friday, 30 January. Students need their ID and Password UCLouvain.

Once timetables are finalised, they will be available on ILV website (under the 'schedules & classrooms' tab at the bottom of the page). 

🔜 Courses start from Monday, 2 February 2026 (week 1). You have to go even though you haven’t done the orientation test because groups are created on “first arrive, first serve” basis”.

📍 No enrolment before going to the course. Teachers need to talk to students in class, to make sure they are on a course suited to their needs. Enrolment procedure will be explained in class and at the information session.
