The Research Integrity Committee is an advisory and recommendatory committee established by the Academic Council.
Regulations
The Research Integrity Committee Regulations were approved by the Academic Council on 5 November 2012 and adopted by the Board of Governors on 19 December 2012. It is directly inspired by the “guidelines for integrity in scientific research” drafted under the aegis of the National Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.-FNRS). It is intended for all researchers and should constitute a reference for their scientific activity.
How the committee works
In accordance with its statutes, the committee cannot be questioned directly by researchers. Its role is to give advice to the vice-rector for personnel policy on certain disciplinary investigations and make research ethics recommendations to the Academic Council. These recommendations are published on this web page and relayed to the institutes by local committees or contact persons, whose role is to provide information, advice and mediation in research ethics matters.
