What mobility opportunities are available to UCLouvain students?

UCLouvain has signed agreements with over 400 higher education institutions in Flanders, Europe and around the world. These agreements enable you to study abroad during your degree course. A wide range of exchange programmes are available:  

  • Erasmus Belgica for exchanges with Flemish universities;
  • Erasmus+ for European networks;
  • Erasmus Mundus, CLUSTER, TIME, CEMS and other programmes for international networks;
  • Mercator, unique to UCLouvain, which complements the Erasmus programme, enabling you to study at universities in the USA or Asia;
  • taking courses at another university in Belgium at no extra cost whilst remaining at UCLouvain. 

Types of programmes

  • Mobility programmes without dual or joint degrees (Erasmus, Mercator).
  • Interuniversity programmes leading either to dual degrees (awarded by UCLouvain and the partner university) or to a single joint degree.
