Welcome to the English Department !

The ILV, the Language Institute of the UCLouvain, offers you English courses, from beginner+ (A2) to advanced (C1) levels.

Our team has developed a teaching approach adapted to the different faculties and programmes. Depending on your specialisation, you will be able to

practice English in the 4 main skill areas (reading, speaking, writing and listening) through a variety of adapted activities,
learn English general vocabulary as well as vocabulary that is specific to your academic programme
review English grammar.

The ILV English Department also has...

around forty teachers,
89 courses based on the CEFR, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
no fewer than 10,000 students in +/- 450 groups
over 13,500 hours of teaching per year !
