Welcome to the English Department
The ILV - Language Institute of the UCLouvain offers English courses, from beginner+ to advanced levels (from A2 to C1).
Our team has developed a teaching approach adapted to the different faculties and programmes. Depending on your specialisation, you will be able to
practice English in the 4 main skill areas (reading, speaking, writing and listening)
through a variety of adapted activities,
learn English general vocabulary as well as vocabulary that is specific to your academic programme
review English grammar.
Our Offer
We offer two types of teaching units:
1) Faculty teaching units
Below, or in the menu, first select your Sector, then your Faculty to find out which English courses are offered there, on the Louvain-la-Neuve campus (and/or the Woluwé campus for the Health Sciences Sector), at Bachelor’s and Master’s level.
2) ‘All faculties’ teaching units
These general English courses, which are not linked to a specific field of study, are reserved exclusively for Master’s students at UCLouvain :
within the PAE, subject to authorisation from the English course coordinator, for final approval by the Faculty Select Committee.
as part of an exchange programme, following selection (enrolment under 'ERAS LV')
How to register ?
- Select the ‘All faculties’ category, then choose the course code corresponding to your level;
- Then go to the ILV Enrolment page :
- I am a UCLouvain student and would like to add a language course [English] to my PAE...
- I am a UCLouvain student and I have already been selected for an exchange programme...
