Regular UCLouvain Student: language course registration

1. I consult my schedule and rooms on My Schedule
    
2. I enrol in one of the GROUPS of this course on Moodle UCLouvain (online learning platform)
    
3. Without further ado, I attend the ILV course in my programme !

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
(from the Bachelior's programme, block 2)

  As the programmes end on October 31, 
requests to add ILV courses to your Annual Programme for Q2 must be submitted at the start of Q1  

1) Use the online form 'Request to add an ILV course to my PAE' to request authorisation from the ILV Teacher to take an 'all faculties' language course as part of your annual programme.

2) The ILV Teacher will respond to your request by email, either approving or rejecting it.
 

3) If his or her response is positive, you must forward it to your Faculty Programme Manager by October 09, 2026.
 

4) Your Faculty Select Committee must then approve your request to add a course to your annual programme. Please note that   the Committee may still refuse to add an additional course to your programme, even if the teacher has approved it.

As a UCLouvain student, I have access to language courses, outside my programme [i.e. as a 'Free Student'] in Arabic ~ Chinese ~ French as a foreign language ~ German ~ Italian ~ Japanese ~ Korean ~ Portuguese ~ Russian ~ Turkish

However, as a Free Student, I do NOT have access to courses in Dutch   English   Sign Language   Spanish  

Having already been selected, I would like to take a language course directly related to the language of instruction and/or everyday life in my host country. Depending on my level, this will be chosen from the ‘all-faculties’ language courses.

I will follow the enrolment procedure below step by step :

1) I will request written authorisation from the ILV Teacher using the 'Certificate for Outgoing Exchange Students', which I have already completed.
 

2) If my request is approved, I will forward the completed and signed certificate to my faculty’s mobility coordinator.
 

3) Once the certificate has been completed in full (by me + the teacher + the mobility coordinator), I will email it to secretariat-ilv@uclouvain.be.

Depending on the choice of my Faculty, this course (only 1 !) will either be added to my annual programme or taken outside my programme (in which case the ILV will enrol me on this course under 'ERAS LV' using this certificate).

⇢ ERAS LV = as part of my outgoing exchange programme, but outside of my annual programme. However, this is not an enrolment as a Free Student, as enrolment on one language course under 'ERAS LV' is completely free of charge !

⇢⇢ Under ERAS LV, I am expected to regularly attend the course and sit the exam !

IF I wish to follow a language course that is not directly related to the language of instruction and/or everyday life in the host country, THEN I follow the procedure for "Free Students" set out above ⇢ I would like to take a course outside my Annual Programme... 

For English, Spanish or Dutch...

If I have not yet been selected, I must request that this course be added to my annual programme, in accordance with the above procedure ⇢ I would like to add a course to my Annual Programme... 

  For Q2 courses, applications must be submitted at the start of Q1  

For other languages 

1. I will provisionally enrol as a "Free Student" by following the above procedure ⇢ I would like to take a language course outside my annual programme...
   
    
2. Once I have been selected for this exchange, I will submit the validated Certificate for Outgoing Exchange Students from the Mobility Coordinator to the ILV Secretariat. This will allow me to be officially enrolled on this course (only 1 !) under 'ERAS LV'  [i.e. outside the programme, as an outgoing exchange student, which is free].
   
    
3. Once I am enrolled under 'ERAS LV', I will go to the UCLouvain Enrolment Office to claim a SIC refund of the enrolment fees.

As a UCLouvain student, also enrolled in individual course·s, I have access to language courses in Arabic ~ Chinese ~ French as a foreign language ~ German ~ Italian ~ Japanese ~ Korean ~ Portuguese ~ Russian ~ Turkish

However, I do not have access to courses in Dutch   English   Sign Language   Spanish  

I follow one of the following procedures for UCLouvain Student :

• either in my University Certificate [XXXX 2 or 9 CE] ⇢ I would like to add a language course to my Annual Programme...

• or outside my University Certificate [XXXX 2 or 9 CE] ⇢ I would like to follow a language course beside of my annual programme...
