Free student registration

Are you
  • a UCLouvain student who would like to take a language course outside of your ASP ?
  • an exchange student who would like to take a language course outside your Learning Agreement ?
  • a doctoral student who would like to take a language course outside of your doctoral programme ?
  • from outside UCLouvain and want to take a language course at the ILV other than Dutch, English, French, Sign language and Spanish ?

 

Here is a step-by-step guide to register as a "Free student" : 

(All languages are available as a free student except: English, Dutch, Spanish, sign language, and French (French courses are available exclusively for persons enrolled at UCLouvain, whether UCLouvain staff or students).

I attend the INFO session on the language course I would like to take ⇢ optional, but highly recommended ;-) 

When should I register for language courses?
Registration is open from mid-August to mid-October.
For Q2 courses: registration is open from January to the end of February.

I fill in the 'Application form for authorisation to enrol as a free student' online.

 

Once I have completed the form, I will receive a reply from the ILV secretariat by e-mail. 

In the event of a favourable response from the ILV Secretariat, I will forward its authorisation by e-mail to SIC, the Enrolment Service, together with

 

  • the SIC 'Demande d'inscription particulière' document

 

  • a copy of both sides of my identity card

I activate my UCLouvain global account, then discover my Dashboard, from My UCLouvain... 

SIC sends me the invoice by email (to my new email address @student.uclouvain.be :-), which is also available from my Dashboard.

 

From 3 to 10 credits = €139.20
 

11 or more credits = €139.20 + €90.00/course

⇢ max. 20 ECTS 
 

 

Depending on the language, I register for a group on Moodle UCLouvain, an open source e-learning platform.

 

  Registering for a group on Moodle does NOT mean that I am registered for this course  

I will take note of the arrangements for the forthcoming exams.

 

⇢ exams are an integral part of the course, even if you take them as a free student !

In order to receive a "certificate" of results (last level acquired with a minimum of 10/20), I must

 

  • be officially registered on the course

 

  • and confirm my registration for the exam during the designated period
