Special applications

sic |

Other types of education can be pursued at UCLouvain. These require special application procedures.

Continuing education studies are for individuals who already hold a higher education degree. They are designed to update knowledge and enrich prior higher education. Enrolment for these courses is managed by the Institut universitaire de formation continue (University Institute for Continuing Education) rather than by the Enrolment Office.

UCLouvain is involved in the Higher Education in Emergencies movement, which promotes access to higher education for refugees. Further information can be found on this page.

Anyone wishing to take stand-alone course units at UCLouvain as a student-at-large student may request authorisation from the faculty in question.

Once authorisation has been obtained, you must complete the special application form and send both the authorisation and the registration form to the Enrolment Office.

Details:

  •      - You may take one or more stand-alone course units for a maximum of 20 credits.
  •      - If you do not have the nationality of a European Union country and you do not have Belgian student status, you cannot take stand-alone course units.

Stand-alone course unit tuition fee:

  •      - 1 to 10 credits: €139.20
  •      - > 10 credits: €13.92/credit

Language class tuition:

  •      - €90.00/class

In the event of cumulative enrolment in stand-alone course unit(s) and language classes for a number greater than 10 credits, language class tuition will apply.
