Fumito Tomooka

Since the beginning of his academic career, professor Tomooka specialised in public, administrative and competition law. For almost twenty years now, he has been writing dissertations on the law of utilities (energy, telecommunications and water) and on nuclear safety and radioactive waste regulations, as well as being interested in newly invented technologies.
He is working as a member of some administrative information appeal committees (Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Kawasaki City), freedom of information and privacy of information law areas have become one of his main fields. He is very interested in the public regulation of the latest technologies in the area of data protection, as well as in the regulation of water and space law (especially for satellite telecommunications), which is regulated under the Public Private Partnership (PPP).
